  • Computer with Pentium 133 megahertz (MHz) or higher processor; Pentium 4 (2.4GHz) or higher recommended.
  • Minimum 256MB of RAM (512MB or more recommended)
  • 160 MB of available hard disk space.
  • Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me), Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6 (SP6) or later, Windows 2000, or Windows XP or later (Windows XP with Service Pack 2 recommended), Windows Vista
  • CD-ROM drive.
  • Super VGA (800 x 600 or higher resolution) monitor with 256 colors.
  • Microsoft Mouse, Microsoft IntelliMouse®, or compatible pointing device.

Other Considerations

Client terminal user permissions must allow for read/write/execute permission to the directory on which the Commtraxx database file is located on the server.

Commtraxx will only work where the interface applications are installed on the client machines (i.e. you can not install the interface on the server and allow access to multiple users simultaneously). We don't support "thin" client terminals with the exception of single-user-at-a-time remote desktop connection. In multi user environments, Commtraxx interface applications should be installed on the C:\ drive of your terminals.

We recommend against using terminal server configurations and wireless networks as these have proven to have significant detrimental impact on performance.
 
Other Prerequisites

Pre-Windows XP operating system users (Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000) must have installed the Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.6 Service Pack 2 in order to use Commtraxx's inbuilt web services. This can be obtained by clicking here:

Internet access and possession of a valid available e-mail account are required in order to;

  • complete the automated activation process,
  • make use of the self-help facilities of the Commtraxx website,
  • send e-mail messages directly from the Commtraxx application,
  • utilise Commtraxx web publishing features,
  • send SMS text messages from Commtraxx.

Compatibility

  • Some extended Commtraxx functionality utilizes Microsoft Office (97 or later) elements. Data may be exported to Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access or Microsoft Word. Reports may be e-mailed using Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express.

  • The Commtraxx website is best viewed and utilized with Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 7.0 (with cookies enabled).
